Christopher has been chosen for the NBC Sports Philadelphia Shining Star Award from the March of Dimes for Hockey. Christopher was a 34 week old preemie who spent nearly the first month of his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Staten Island University Hospital in NY.
Since Christopher has been diagnosed with Mild Cerebral Palsy, Learning Disabilities, Severe Anxiety, Asthma and developmental delays. When Christopher was a baby we didn't know if he would ever be able to walk or run and now here is at 10 years old proving us all wrong not only ice skating but playing hockey for the Delaware Stars and doing his very best to keep up with his older brothers and teammates. Chrissy loves the game of hockey and all that goes along with being a part of the team.
In 2010 Christopher and his brother served as the March of Dimes Ambassador Family for the Staten Island Division in New York and we are so excited to have this opportunity again and for both passions to come full circle. Without the research and advances of the March of Dimes Christopher would not be where he is today!
His goal is to raise $1000 before the awards ceremony in January and he is hoping you will help him get there! Please donate if you can!
